Sinergia Circular
We bring together
the key players
in the circular economy
Connect with companies, governments, and organizations that are changing the way we produce, consume, and interact
What is Sinergia Circular?
Sinergia Circular is an international cooperation initiative co-financed by the European Union. Our goal is to promote the circular economy in Argentina, with a focus on caring for the environment and generating sustainable benefits. The first stage of the project is being implemented in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA).
How does Sinergia Circular work?
We implement a strategy based on four lines of action that bring together the different actors in the territory. We connect sectors, strengthen capacities, promote environmental and social impact, and highlight good practices to accelerate an inclusive and collaborative circular economy.

We connect
We create collaborative networks through a digital platform that brings together public, private, and social actors.

We train
We train governments, companies, and organizations to lead circular processes with concrete tools.

We drive
We promote green jobs, sustainable ventures, and tools to measure and improve impact.

We certify
We certify those who do things well, so that their achievements can be scaled up and replicated in more territories.

What is the Circular Economy?
The Circular Economy is a system of production and consumption designed to optimize the use of resources throughout their life cycle—minimizing the flow of virgin resources, making the use of existing resources in the system more efficient, and recovering waste—to promote sustainable human development.
We all have a role to play
Much more than just an idea. Sinergia Circular builds a common vision of the circular economy among diverse actors.

Local governments
We promote their leadership through tools and strategies for the design and implementation of innovative and effective environmental policies.

Companies and entrepreneurs
We promote the leading role of the private sector by raising awareness, promoting innovation, and fostering green jobs that add economic and environmental value.

Cooperatives and NGOs
We strengthen the capacities of social organizations by adding value to their services and opening up new opportunities for development.
SCOPE OF ACTION
Buenos Aires
Metropolitan Area
The Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA) encompasses the city of Buenos Aires and 40 municipalities. It is home to 16 million people and accounts for more than 40% of the country’s economic activity.
Its heterogeneity in terms of economic, social, and political development poses a challenge: achieving interjurisdictional balance and cooperation between the public, private, and social sectors.

NETWORK

The circular ecosystem is built by connecting diverse knowledge, practices, and actors. This map represents the aspects that guide Sinergia Circular’s strategies. A dynamic network of solutions to accelerate the transition to a regenerative economy.

Drivers
Fundación Manos Verdes and Asociación Sustentar, together with co-financing from the European Union, are promoting Sinergia Circular. With more than a decade of experience in Argentina and Latin America, these civil society organizations bring together knowledge, networks, and public policies to accelerate the transition to a more just, regenerative, and low-carbon economy.
The EU is an economic and political association of 27 European countries that emerged from the ashes of World War II. The EU is the world’s largest contributor to international cooperation, development aid, and humanitarian assistance.
Fundación Manos Verdes: Since 2010, Fundación Manos Verdes has been working with companies, governments, and institutions to plan and develop activities related to the circular economy and sustainable development.
Sustentar is a non-profit organization. It generates impact through the creation of knowledge products, technical assistance, and capacity building. It integrates perspectives, drives action, and fosters collaborations for sustainability.
